The coast and countryside east of Malaga has a string of white villages; Nerja, Torrox and Frigiliana and further inland the villages of Sayalonga, Comares, Canillas de Aceituno, Archez & Competa. Since the new highway has been inaugurated it only takes a little less than an hour to drive from Malaga airport to the eastern part of the Costa del Sol.

The inland stretches all the way up to Sierra Almijara and the large Natural Parks where wild boar and mountain goats live alongside huge birds such as golden eagles and black vulture.

Torrox is divided into 4 areas. You have Torrox Pueblo, the old Moorish part, Torrox Costa by the sea, Torrox Park between the village and the sea & lastly Torrox Campo, in the surrounding mountains, where you will be staying if you choose a self catering holiday in Torrox.

Frigiliana is a very charming village. It has won several awards for being one of the most beautifully renovated villages in Spain. It is probably no coincidence that you will find a concentration of international artists, musicians and writers living in Frigiliana.

The Spanish word "Tranquilo" may have its cradle somewhere in this neighborhood, because if it is a quiet rhythm of life, inspiration and a sense of inner peace you try to get, then this is the destination to look for it.
